“Not all those who wander are lost.”

— J.R.R. Tolkien

Casey Morris spent 10 years in the corporate world working for several Fortune 500 companies headquartered in Atlanta. Over the course of a decade, she honed a wide variety of digital marketing skills and earned a proven track record of success in advertising, social media, and website traffic.

Casey collected a great deal of best practices over the years across multiple areas, but most importantly, she learned that the only constant in the digital marketing world is change itself.

In fact, that is what she loves so much about digital marketing! There is always a new challenge, tool, or platform to learn. Social media algorithms get updated, and new best practices must be discovered, tested, and put into place.

Pursuing a career in digital marketing wasn’t Casey’s original plan.

Casey Morris graduated from Auburn University magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts and a double major in Radio/TV/Film and Spanish. It was her dream to work in television in Atlanta. But the Great Recession hit right around the time she graduated and moved to the city in 2008.

In order to navigate the changing job market, Casey took inventory of all of her skills in the hopes of finding a new career path.

  • Casey always had a passion for writing.
  • As a teenager, she used to build websites for fun.
  • She learned basic graphic design and video editing in college.
  • Casey also hopped on social media platforms as they popped up over the years: Facebook (2005), YouTube (2006), LinkedIn and Twitter (2008), and Instagram (2012). RIP Myspace!

When Casey added this seemingly random amalgamation of skills to her resume in 2009, she was pleasantly surprised to learn that she was perfectly suited for digital marketing!

Undoubtedly, Casey learned a lot from working in large corporations, but they just weren’t the right fit for her. She wanted to be able to use all of her various learned skills simultaneously. But what’s more—she truly wanted to help people.

It was time to find her purpose and true calling.

At the beginning of 2020, Casey left her last corporate job and took a professional sabbatical. In just three months, she earned certifications in Facebook Advertising (now Meta), Hootsuite Marketing, and Google Analytics. She was considering making a switch to the agency world when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

As luck would have it, Casey landed her first freelance client just a few weeks later in April 2020.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
